The Stud
Far away from the hustle and the bustle of the cities lies in impressive setting Pipeview Stud. In the gentle hills of County Kilkenny nature offers all the vital ingredients that thoroughbred breeding requires. The enormous amount of often un-horsed limestone land at the horses’ disposal is unique. The total of 140 acres is populated by 10 – 15 broodmares. 35 individual winners as well as the dam of Group 1 winning sprinter Pipalong have grased the land of Pipeview. The stud is in easy driving distance to some of the worlds prime stallion stations such as Ballylinch or Coolmore.

The core business is the keep of broodmares and the rearing of foals. Visiting the stallions, foaling in spring as well as sales prep for the big public auctions in Ireland and England are the main tasks of Michael Phelan’s experienced team. Pipeview is also a good place for boarding horses out of training. The farm offers all the required facilities to build up the horse’s base condition before it (re-)enters training. Stud owner Michael Phelan is currently expanding the exisiting 40-boxes stable complex. Hence, there will be sufficient space for new boarders in the close future.
